This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Sunday, November 15th 2020 at approximately 4:49 pm. The driver of red Buick (2008) unsafe speed. Injuries were reported. An officer from Columbus Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.

The collision occurred on W Broad St at the intersection of Haldy Ave. Unit 2 was traveling westbound on W Broad St in the outside lane. Unit #1 was eastbound on W. Broad; turning northbound onto Haldy Av. Unit 2 collided with the passenger side of Unit 1. Units 1 and 2 then became separated; where Unit 1 crashed into the building just west of the intersection of W Broad St and Haldy Ave. Unit 2 spun around and came to a rest next to the building on the sidewalk. Witnesses 1 and 2 were approximately 100 yards east of the collision and observed that Unit 2 was traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on W Broad St prior to the collision; weaving in and out of traffic. The driver of Unit 1 was transported in critical condition to Grant Hospital by CFD Medic 17 where he was pronounced deceased at 17:21. The passenger of Unit 1 was transported in critical condition to Doctor's Hospital by CFD Medic 817 where she was pronounced deceased at 17:30. The driver of Unit 2 was transported by CFD Medic 12 to Grant Hospital for a possible broken leg. AIU responded and took over the investigation. DICE Officers responded to investigate potential impairment on the driver of Unit 2. Both vehicles were impounded to the City Impound Lot and held as evidence. The occupant of Unit 2 was not on scene when Officers arrived.
