This accident, involving 1 vehicle occurred on Friday, November 20th 2020 at approximately 10:39 am. The driver of black Dodge (2014) other improper action. Injuries were reported. An officer from Columbus Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
Unit #1 was at the BP gas station at 1950 E. 17th Ave where the Occupant of Unit #1 was shot with a firearm by another individual. In an attempt to get away from the individual do the shooting; Driver of Unit #1 fled the scene southbound at a high rate of speed. Driver of Unit #1 lost control of Unit #1 while on Woodland Ave south of Woodward Ave. Unit #1 passed over the centerline; ran off the road left where Unit #1 struck two utility poles and a gas line. The gas which was struck was leaking gas and had to be shut off by the utility company. The two utility poles that were struck and damaged were located in front of 1114 Woodland Ave (pole numbers 391018 & 391019). Occupant of Unit #1 was transported to Grant Hospital in life threatening condition by CFD Medic #18. Incident is being investigated by CPD Major Crimes Bureau.
