This accident, involving 1 vehicle occurred on Friday, December 25th 2020 at approximately 5:50 am. The driver of white Honda (1995) drove off road. Injuries were reported. An officer from Columbus Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
Unit #1 was Northbound on Lonsdale Rd when it veered off of the roadway and struck a wooden light/electric pole. Upon arrival; Officer Collins found the vehicle but no driver. The vehicle was disabled and remained partially in the roadway with the front airbags deployed. The vehicle was issued a ticket for being abandoned in the roadway; #55 97576776; code (11-2151.016). Pro-Tow towing responded and impounded the vehicle. At 10:49am; incident No. #########; officers were dispatched to an address nearby in reference to an unresponsive male who needed medics. Officers found victim (unknown name) and the caller who stated that the unresponsive male was the driver of a vehicle that crashed on Lonsdale Road. The caller said he just met the unresponsive male and was trying to help him. He stated that he observed the driver of the wrecked vehicle trying to push the vehicle out of the roadway and helped him by taking him back to his apartment (the caller's apartment) to get warm and call for additional help. The caller (who just met the victim) didn't know the victim's name and stated there was a language barrier. CPD medic 23 transported the victim to Mount Carmel East in critical condition. Unit 141A responded to Mt Carmel East and stated that Dr Savory was the attending physician and that the victim had not yet been identified. Continued.
