This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Monday, January 18th 2021 at approximately 12:00 am. The driver of gold Chevrolet (2013) unsafe speed. Injuries were reported. An officer from Cleveland Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
Unit 1 operated EB on St Clair Ave in excess of the posted speed limit of 25 MPH; swerving around EB cars. At E 102nd St; Unit 1 went left of center around a vehicle turning left to NB E 102nd St. Unit 1; traveling east in the WB lanes; swerved out of control missing another vehicle that was traveling WB in lane one. Unit 1 traveled off the north side of the road; sideswiping a wooden utility pole then collided with a fire hydrant; a steel utility pole; and a bus shelter as it came to rest. The fire hydrant was sheared off being propelled EB on St Clair Ave; crossing E 105th; striking the front of WB Unit 2.
