This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Thursday, January 14th 2021 at approximately 1:59 pm. The driver of cream Kia (2005) not discernible. Injuries were reported. An officer from Columbus Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
Driver of Unit #2 states he was westbound on W. Mound St; in the curb lane; approaching Ryan Ave when he struck Unit #1. Driver of Unit #2 states Unit #1 pulled out from the stop sign at Ryan Ave. Driver of Unit #2 states he couldn't react and struck Unit #1. Driver of Unit #2 had cuts to his left knuckles. Driver of Unit #1 was unconscious at scene and transported to Grant Hospital by CFD Medic 817 in Critical condition. 9190D responded to the hospital for follow-up and aired his condition was now lifethreatening. Witnesses at scene stated the Driver of Unit #2 was travelling at a high rate of speed when the accident occurred. The identity of the Driver in Unit #1 was not known at the time of the report. AIU; Detective Bailey; responded to scene.
