Units 1 and 3 had been involved in a previous property damage only crash on Interstate (IR) 270 northbound (NB) south of IR 70 (reference crash report #########). Unit 1 was on the IR 270 NB right (east) shoulder facing southwest with the passenger front partially in the IR 270 NB three lane. Unit 3 was stopped on the right (east) shoulder of IR 270 NB. Unit 2 traveled IR 270 NB south of IR 70 in the three lane. Unit 2 struck the driver side front of Unit 1 that was in the IR 270 NB three lane. Witness 2; who was standing at the driver side door of Unit 1 at the time of the crash; stated the collision between Units 1 and 2 caused Unit 1 Occupant to be ejected from Unit 1. Witness 1 stated the driver side front door of Unit 1 was open at the time of impact. Unit 1 Occupant came to rest in the IR 270 NB three lane. Unit 2 struck / sideswiped Unit 3 (driver side) on the right (east) shoulder of IR 270 NB. Witness 1 stated Unit 4; an unidentified car traveling behind Unit 2; struck Unit 1 Occupant after Unit 1 Occupant came to rest in the IR 270 NB three lane. Unit 4 did not stop at the crash location and continued travel NB on IR 270. Columbus Division of Fire Engine 23 pronounced Unit 1 Occupant deceased at scene at 22:46. Unit 2 incurred damage to steering system and passenger side fuel tank. (Continued on OH-2)
