This accident, involving 5 vehicles occurred on Thursday, May 27th 2021 at approximately 1:02 am. The driver of silver Hyundai (2005) other improper action. Injuries were reported. An officer from Columbus Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.

Upon arrival to the scene officers witnessed the Driver and Occupant of Unit 1 unconscious with severe injuries. Citizens at scene stated they heard the crash but did not witness it. The Driver of Unit 1 was transported by CFD Medic 17 to Grant Hospital at 01:22 AM in critical condition. The Occupant was transported to Mount Carmel West by CFD Medic 817 at 01:26 AM in stable condition. The treating doctor; Dr. Veery; of Driver 1 pronounced him as deceased at 02:36 AM. The Occupant of Unit 1 was unconcious at the time of the accident and unable to give an account. Officers were able to retrieve the information of the owners for Unit 2 and 3. Based on the damage and position of the vehicles officers determined Unit 1 struck Unit 2 and attempted to overcorrrect the turn causing it to then strike Unit 3 which then struck Unit 4 that was attached to Unit 5. Officers contacted the Accident Investigation Unit who responded to scene.
